Leg weave pass to mount

You stack their legs to one side, pin the bottom leg with your knee and step over to mount. Use it when they turn their hips sideways to defend your pass.

Passing Mount

Leg Weave Pass by Craig Jones (Set Up With Leg Lock) · BJJ Fanatics · YouTube

Step by step

  1. Grip both of their knees and push them to one side so their hips turn and their legs stack.
  2. Drive your knee between their legs and pin their bottom thigh to the mat with your shin. That's the weave.
  3. Keep their top leg pinned with your hand or hip so it can't come back in front of you.
  4. Drop your chest onto theirs and get a crossface or underhook.
  5. Swing your back leg over their top leg and land in mount, knees tight to their hips.

Details that make it work

  • The weave knee pins the bottom leg. If it floats, they re-guard.
  • Chest heavy before you step to mount.

Common mistakes

  • Stepping over before your chest is down.
  • Letting their top knee slide back between you.

Drill it

10 passes each side, ending with a 3-second mount hold.
