Step by step

  1. Low mount: knees tight to their hips, chest low, hands posted wide.
  2. Grapevine their legs (hook under them) when they bridge.
  3. When they push you, climb: walk your knees up toward their armpits (high mount).
  4. Keep your weight on them, not on your knees.
  5. Answer every bridge by widening your base.

Details that make it work

  • High mount stops elbow-knee escapes because they can't get their knees up.
  • Sit on them, don't kneel over them.

Common mistakes

  • Sitting upright with your hands off the mat.
  • Letting them trap an arm and bridge.
