Step by step

  1. From back control, they grab your choking arm with both hands. Fall to the side of your bottom arm.
  2. Trap their top arm at the elbow, hugging it to your chest.
  3. Take your top hook out and put that foot on their hip.
  4. Push their hips down away from you while you shift your hips up toward their head.
  5. Swing your other leg over their face and fall back, their arm between your legs, thumb up.
  6. Pinch your knees and lift your hips slowly until they tap.

Details that make it work

  • Their two-handed defense is the cue. They can't defend the arm and the neck at once.
  • Hold the elbow tight the whole way. Space lets them pull it out.

Common mistakes

  • Letting go of the seatbelt before the arm is trapped.
  • Swinging the leg before you've moved your hips up.
