High-wrist guillotine
You choke with the bony blade of your wrist high on their throat. Use it from front headlock when they keep their head low after a snap-down or a failed shot.
Front headlock Submission
Step by step
- From front headlock, wrap your choking arm around their neck so the bony blade of your wrist sits high across their throat.
- Reach your other arm over their far shoulder and grip your choking hand, palm on top.
- Point your choking elbow up and pull their head tight to your chest.
- Lift the wrist blade up into their throat, elbows tight to your ribs.
- Finish slowly on your knees, standing, or by sitting to guard. Never fall or jump onto them.
Details that make it work
- The wrist bone does the choking, not your forearm.
- Lift up into the throat. Do not bend their neck back.
Common mistakes
- Gripping low on the forearm, which only squeezes the jaw.
- Cranking the head instead of choking.
Drill it
10 slow grips and finishes each side from front headlock.
