Double-leg takedown

You drop under their arms and drive through both legs to take them down. Use it when they stand tall or lean in, especially after a fake or a snap brings their weight forward.

Step by step

  1. Set it up: snap their head down or fake high so their hips come forward.
  2. Change levels, then take a penetration step: your lead knee lands between their feet, head up and tight to their chest or side.
  3. Wrap both legs behind the knees, ear on their ribs.
  4. Bring your back foot up beside your lead knee and drive at an angle (toward a corner), not straight forward.
  5. As they land, keep your head on their chest, clear their legs and settle into side control.

Details that make it work

  • Drive diagonally through them, like pushing a car out of a corner.
  • Keep your head outside their body or on their chest. A head out in front of them gets guillotined.

Common mistakes

  • Shooting with your head down, straight into a guillotine.
  • Stopping after the penetration step instead of driving through.

Drill it

10 penetration steps to the knee, then 10 full doubles on a soft landing.
