Curriculum
Brown to Black belt
Mastery and refinement. A black belt makes few mistakes, adapts to any body type and style, finishes against people who know the defenses, and can teach the whole art. Many describe black belt as the start of deep learning, not the end.
Typically 1–2 years at brown; about 8–12 years in total. IBJJF minimum: 1 year at brown, age 19+.
